STACK demonstration site

How to access the STACK demonstration website.

If you have an academic interest in using STACK, and would like to author questions on the demonstration site to evaluate STACK, please contact us.

STACK demonstration site maintenance windows

The demo site may occasionally be taken offline for brief periods of maintenance at any time during UK weekday working hours, sometimes with only fairly short advance notice given (usually noted below, for longer duration maintenance periods).

If you see a maintenance downtime alert on the demo site, please make sure that you logout as soon as possible.

Please note that the website is also offline for automated overnight backups for approximately 30 minutes between 04:00 and 04:30 UK local time every day (timezone GMT/UTC during northern winter, BST/UTC+01:00 during northern summer).

Scheduled maintenance

The STACK demonstration site was replaced in March 2024 by a new server, running Moodle 4.1 LTS and STACK 4.5.

The old demonstration site is now temporarily available at a different address, via the link below.

The stack-demo hostname now points to the new server.

If you are an existing user of the old server who wishes to retain any of your course data, we recommend that you export any data that you wish to retain now. The old server will remain available via a different web address for a few weeks so that users can export any of their remaining data that they may need, before the server is fully shut down on Monday 15 April 2024. (Login using your existing username and password from the (now old) demo server.)
